Team Grimace Mountain Bike Club are heavily involved in charity events all over the country raising thousands of pounds for the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research, Cystic Fibrosis, and Alzheimer's Disease to name but a few..

How it all started...

Back in the winter of 1991 nine guys of all ages and walks of life were brought together by there common interest - mountain biking. So at the start of 92 we agreed to meet regularly for days out on the saddle, each member taking his turn to prepare a route. This then led to the team entering local competitions and then national events including Europe’s biggest mountain bike gathering, the Malvern Classics.

We have had a number of successes over the years in both cross-country and downhill events with placings in the top five at national level. When the club aren’t out on their day rides or competing we have raised thousands of pounds on sponsored rides of all sizes, which have included the Coast to Coast , Lon Las Cymru, South Downs Way and the new Northern Pennine route (Appleby to Berwick on Tweed)

The social side of the club has seen Christmas parties (always a full turnout), summer bar-b-q, tandem racing, lake jumping, karting, bowling, and PC gaming. Plus an annual pilgrimage to  "The Bike Show" now held at the NEC. We are constantly looking for new routes and trails, both in our area and further a field. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Team Grimace has links with many well known retail outlets, and would like to take this opportunity to thank all for their support over the previous years.
